Castro Theatre
San Francisco, California

About the project

This series offers an experiential view of San Francisco’s iconic Castro as a site of transformation where every detail is calculated to loosen the grip of daily life and transport the viewer to other worlds. Enveloping darkness, lush textures, rhythmic patterns—the physical experience is key to the suspension of disbelief. Compositions interrupt the normal perception of space, asking the viewer to experience the images visually and bodily instead of analytically.
